Ocean bottom seismic inspires major structural update at South Arne field, Danish North Sea

Ocean bottom seismic, OBS, was acquired in 2014 over the South Arne field located in the Danish sector of the North Sea. The main objective of the seismic survey was to improve the image of a significant part of the reservoir, previously obscured on conventional towed streamer data by an overburden gas cloud. The full azimuthal PP and PS data have made it possible to map faults beneath the gas cloud and has inspired a structural model update of the South Arne field. A secondary objective of the OBS acquisition was to study 4D production effects and full 4D processing and AVO inversion together with vintage streamer data was executed.
